Preparing for Sixth Form

Transitioning to Sixth Form is an exciting step, and preparation is key to making a confident start.  Over the summer, students are expected to complete subject-specific summer work.  This is designed to lay the foundation for the next two years of study, helping students to develop key skills, build essential knowledge, and begin thinking more deeply about their chosen subjects.

In addition to the set summer work, we strongly encourage students to engage with the super-curriculum - a programme of wider reading, lectures, podcasts, and enrichment activities.  Exploring beyond the classroom helps develop curiosity, independence, and a deeper understanding of subject areas, all of which are crucial for success in Sixth Form and beyond.

During the first few weeks of September, students will complete transition tasks to consolidate their summer learning and adjust to the demands of A Level study.  These early tasks are vital in setting a strong academic tone and ensuring a smooth and successful start to Sixth Form life.
