Work-related Learning

Throughout the school year students are involved in different activity days which are organized to help them start thinking about their careers. The activities will help them to manage their option choices and help them to manage their next career stage whether it be work, college or university. Other activities will be aimed at helping the students learn and develop skills needed for work, such as teamwork and problem-solving skills. Students will also learn about enterprise and the skills of being an entrepreneur.

Valentine’s Enterprise Activities

Love was in the air during the week before Half Term, not only did we have a Valentine’s Market, but 9WX also run a Valentine’s Postal Service!

Both of the events provided funds for a number of charities and worthwhile causes known to the

School.

The Enterprise Market was, once again, extremely

lucrative and a grand sum of £350 was raised for

six different causes. Not bad in just 40 minutes!

Special mention must be made to Year 7 as being

the largest fund-raiser, as well as Dan, Jerome,

Manon and Phillipa of 8HX who raised £153.93

for their chosen charities – Breast Cancer Research

and COSMIC (Children of St Mary’s Intensive Care).
