Facilities
The Connexions Centre, officially opened in 2006 offers a comfortable area for students to sit and relax, offices for counselling and interviewing, a mass of literature for students to take away and a teaching room equipped with computers and a TV/DVD/Video.
Careers guidance and advice is located in the Connexions Centre organised by Ms Atherton. We have a comprehensive library of information about applying to university, college courses, taking a gap year, university finance, and detailed information on careers and jobs which can be accessed anytime.
Materials used in the Life Skills programme can be found in the Connexions Centre together with the school’s counselling and mentoring programme. Form tutors and Heads of Year work closely with the Connexions team to ensure the needs of our students are met.
The Connexions Co-ordinator is Mr Andrew Dobberson and the Connexions Centre is fronted and administered by Mrs Denise Griffiths. There is a Connexions Personal Advisor attached to the school, Judi Williamson available by appointment on Tuesdays. The Connexions Centre is open to all students and staff throughout the day, and at lunchtime the following range of activities and presentations can be accessed:
