A great website for finding out about different careers through interviews and short film clips is CareersBox. Take a look at the BT Apprenticeship scheme at 16 (with GCSEs, English, Maths, Science) or 18 (Higher, and requires 2 A Levels).

Career related websites
There are many websites that are useful for careers information whether you are searching for career ideas, courses or jobs. The careers department have compiled a list of some of the websites that you can visit to help you decide on a career path, give general careers advice and provide information on further education.
The list of websites has been broken down into categories to help you search; these include choosing a career, 14 -19 choices, apprenticeships/training, further education, higher education, admission tests, taster courses and open days, student finance and advice, GAP year and equal opportunities. Work Experience / Work-related Learning
All Year 10 students complete a week’s work experience to help them to begin to understand the nature, demands and rewards of adult working life.
Year 11 to 13 career events
Throughout the year events are organised by universities, colleges and organisations for students in years 11, 12 and 13 to help them make career decisions such as choosing university courses. The events page lists upcoming events that may be of interest to students. Please note this list will be updated as information becomes available.

Your CV / Personal Statement
A CV (or 'Curriculum Vitae') is an outline of your education and experience, including your qualities and skills. A well-presented CV is an essential document for the development of your career. The careers department have listed some reference websites to help you write your CV.
Centrigrade Online - finding the right higher education course
Centrigrade Online is a UCAS endorsed questionnaire based programme which assesses your interests, abilities and personal qualities and then matches you with higher education courses available. These courses are then listed in a professionally produced report which can be emailed or posted to you. The report costs between £15 and £20.
The Careers Department advises students to complete this questionnaire to help them when choosing a higher education course.
Student Life - new student support site from the BBC
The site focuses on helping you through your life at school and includes tips on revision, advice on career choices and a dedicated space to discuss what's topical or in the news.
