Entry into Tring School Sixth Form
AS courses require a high level of intellectual ability and commitment to work, it is paramount that students select courses that are appropriate to their ability. A variety of courses can be taken, to suit the individual’s needs. Many students take four AS levels and then drop to three in their second year of study. Other students start and maintain three subjects over the two years, and in some cases students complete a year of Level 2 courses and then stay on a further 2 years to complete level 3 courses.
The type of course a student studies depends upon their GCSE results.
Entry on to courses will depend on GCSE point scores. GCSE grades are given a point’s standard (DfES standards)
Level Three Courses: A level courses
Level Two Courses: GCSE equivalent courses
