We aim to develop
Leisure and Tourism is worth two GCSEs and provides a study option that encourages students to take a more independent path. This is unlike any other GCSE course, we regularly visit the attractions we talk about in class ( Thorpe Park, Leisure Centres, Disneyland Paris) and use a variety of teaching methods to appeal to everyone.
Curriculum
Key Stage 4 - We have a double award GCSE which results in 2 grades.
Key Stage 5 - We also offer the double award GCSE in year 12 which results in 2 grades. The course will be over 1 year
Students for both Key Stage 4 and 5 will learn why leisure and tourism has become one of the UK's fastest growing industries. They research the importance of marketing in the industry, finding out what it involves and how it is carried out. They also find out about and practice the skills involved in customer service. The course introduces students to the leisure and tourism industry and encourages them to gain an understanding of the skills required for all future employment. This is an ideal course for students who wish to progress into the sixth form or acquire skills which they can utilise in employment.
